Master Ho Jin, “Eugene”, Kim was born into a rich martial arts tradition on August 4, 1967. Master Kim began Judo and Taekwondo training under his father, Grandmaster Kyu Ha Kim, at the age of five and currently holds the ranks of Shichidan, 7th degree black belt in Judo, and Yuk Dan, 6th degree black belt, in Taekwondo. Master Kim is noted for his exceptional technique and analytical approach to martial arts instruction. He has trained and coached numerous local, state and national champions in Judo and Taekwondo. During his competitive career, Master Kim was a five time National Judo Champion.
Master Kim has taught martial arts in the Pittsburgh area for nearly thirty years at both the Kim’s Martial Arts & Fitness Cranberry location, where he is the Head Instructor, and at the University of Pittsburgh. In addition to Judo and Taekwondo, Master Kim informally teaches Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at the Cranberry school. He is certified as a Judo instructor and coach by Judo’s national governing bodies and currently the President of the Pennsylvania chapter of USA Judo Inc.
Master Kim’s two sons, Tyler Kim and Tanner Kim, both of whom are Dan ranked in Judo and Taekwondo, comprise the third generation of Kim family martial arts excellence. Both young men, taught and coached by their father, have won numerous Judo championships at the state and national levels.
