Judo & Taekwondo in

South Hills of Pittsburgh

3606 Brownsville Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15227

Kim's Martial Arts has been teaching judo and taekwondo in Pittsburgh since 1965. Our Brentwood dojo carries on that family tradition, with classes for kids and adults of every age and experience level. You might be looking for a confidence-building activity for your child, a challenging workout, practical self-defense, or a path to competition. Whatever your goal, you'll find a welcoming, disciplined place to train. Your first class is free.

Meet Your Head Instructor: Tanner Kim

Tanner Kim is the grandson of our founder, Grandmaster Kyu Ha Kim, and the third generation of the Kim family to lead classes on the mat. He has more than 25 years of judo and taekwondo experience and over a decade of teaching students of all ages and levels.

As a competitor, Tanner won a number of Junior National and regional judo titles, and he brings that experience to students who want to compete. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from the University of Pittsburgh. That background shapes how he teaches: classes stay safe, fit each student's level, and focus on real fitness alongside technique.
